HOW TO CHANGE CALLER ID

Looking for caller ID tips and tricks? Here you’ll find information on how to change the caller ID number that is displayed on other peoples telephones that you call……without them knowing.

It’s called caller ID spoofing and everyone from credit card companies to small businesses are now faking their caller ID number. In fact, it’s so easy to fake your caller ID nowadays that even kids are using fake caller ID services when making prank phone calls so their real identity and location remain hidden.

At the time of this article, it’s completely legal to change the caller ID number that would normally show up on a dialed parties’s caller ID box. There are a few ways that can make the process of faking caller ID numbers a very illegal one. For example you can’t use a caller ID spoofing service in a way that causes or results in an attempt to deceive or attempt fraud or theft as a result of the call.

Why use SpoofCard to fake caller ID?

Using a spoofing service to fake your caller ID can be used for good things too. Law enforcement and private investigators say the ability to change caller ID has protected agents from being discovered in undercover operations. I’ve also heard of parents learning how to change their caller ID number to display as the local police when calling their children’s phone in an attempt to scare them so they’ll quit whatever drugs they’re on.

Just about anyone with access to a telephone and a little old-fashioned patience can spoof their phone number (fake caller ID number). The easiest and fastest way to fake your caller is by using a spoofing service. Changing your caller ID can be easily accomplished with the help of SpoofCard, you’ll soon realize that SpoofCard makes a great gift for yourself or for someone else.

How to fake your caller ID with SpoofCard

Spoofcard will first issue you a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access your account. Write this number down along with Spoofcard’s toll-free 1-800 number and you’re ready to begin changing your caller ID.

First, dial the calling card number and key in your PIN. The voice operated service will ask you to dial the number you wish to call and then to dial the number you wish to appear on the receiver’s caller ID. Make sure you follow up your fake caller ID number with the pound sign which will start the call. Caller ID faking is really simple and that’s why so many people use this technology.

If the power to have any number appear on the caller ID in the world show up as your caller ID number weren’t enough, every SpoofCard comes packed with the most interesting calling card features I’ve ever seen.

Voice Changer – sound like a man or women

Call Recording – choose to record your call as an .mp3

Download your recorded calls as .mp3s to your PC

Work with your calls via a web control panel

Works from payphones, home phones, or cellphones

Getting SpoofCard to fake your caller ID

More information about changing caller ID numbers with Spoofcard can be found online at the Spoofcard website. The steps to change the number displayed on the caller ID of people you call is really easy to learn and can be very entertaining when used in a legal way. You should never use the technology of faking your caller ID in a way that causes harm towards other people.

You can even test out how Spoof Card works for yourself. What’s even better is that you can try SpoofCard for FREE!

In our technologically advanced society, it is becoming much harder to hide our identities from the outside world. We can be found through online venues, public records, and even through our telephone numbers. There are ways of keeping our identities a secret, but it usually takes a lot of money in order to do so. However, there is a new way called Caller ID Spoofing that can keep us from showing our phone numbers to everyone we call.

First of all, you might want to know what Spoofing is all about. It works much the same way as a calling card. You get a card and a set number of minutes. Then, you call the toll free number, enter your pin number, then enter any 10 digit number you’d rather be seen by the person on the other end of the line. This will keep your personal phone number a secret, while allowing you to call as you normally would.

The thing about a Spoof Card that everyone should know is that there are a few states that have outlawed the use of Spoof Cards. The reason being that some individuals have used this program for less than reputable activities. Before you decide to purchase a Spoof Card, make sure it’s legal in your state. Also, if you do use a Spoof Card and are found to be involved in illegal activities, the company will help the authorities find you.

If you use your home phone or cell phone for business reasons, you might want to consider using Caller ID Spoofing to keep your personal information from being sent out. Do a little research before making any purchases, in order to make sure you’re keeping in check with local laws. In a day when identity theft is such an issue, it’s nice to know that you can keep your personal numbers from being passed around.

The Spoof Card company has a strict policy about maintaining their clients privacy. They use the same security systems as most online financial institutions. This way, you can be sure that all your personal information remains hidden from prying eyes and would-be thieves. Keeping your family safe is imperative, and one of the best Reasons To Use Call Spoofing. Never let your personal phone number end up in the wrong hands again.

What is caller ID spoofing?

Phone Calls ID spoofing is the forgery of the identification of a phone call. Allows you to call one person and have any phone number you wish to be on the phone people. Caller ID spoofing is bad news especially for children and adolescents who have come to rely on what they see when the phone rings and give private information over the phone thinking about his safety, when in reality it is very dangerous.

This is creating a marketplace for child predators to disguise or even create a family phone number and the word that a child trusts, leading to disaster. Parents should be aware that Caller ID is not fool proof and should not be relied upon. If a young man answering the phone lets you apply the rule that should not give confidential information such as codes of the door, never say “mom and dad are not home.” Make sure your children never to give information should call a foreigner and want to know any personal information even if the caller ID, police say, a utility company or your child’s school.

Here is an example of false caller ID works:

Caller ID can be used fake friends or used as a joke. For a predator, may even conceal himself to appear as a family member. Many of the caller ID spoofing services give ability to change the sound of your voice and even change a male voice in a male or female voice in the voice of man!

Today, something as simple as relying on the caller ID has become a method to harass and even torture to millions and there is no end in sight. Most victims of harassment report harassed by phone and Caller-ID technology has been used parody. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether cases involving the use of false caller ID had been prosecuted in the United States to date.

Alexis A. Moore, president and CEO of Survivors in Action and a cyber expert said: “Today, child predators have the tools they need at their fingertips and that our society continues to become more high-tech predator again much more sophisticated. ”

How can it be legal for a person to change their phone number and Caller ID? Well, it’s legal and datafurnishing industry selling our private information is legal, so the best thing we can all do for now until the passage of legislation and enforcement is to understand that there is caller ID spoofing and you need to protected until our outdated laws catch up.

The FTC should intervene as they did with spyware registry key this year, and end this business practice today! We need the response of the legislators of our country – no more excuses!

I founded Women’s Legal Resource in 2006 to help women who face the brutal challenges of the family law court system. After going through my own experience in the Family Law Court without the financial resources to obtain proper counsel, I was faced having to represent myself. All though I faced many legal hurdles, I felt the need to help other women and advocate specifically for those who are Domestic Violence Victims. Women’s Legal Resource is a nonpartisan organization that supports the efforts for Domestic Violence Reform and Family Law Reform. The present laws as they are written are flawed and do not meet the language of our ever growing savvy Hi-Tech protocol of the 21st Century, which places victims in danger.

Although there may be occasions when caller ID spoofing is harmless to those who use it often know that you will not pick up the phone if he knew the true origin of the call. This is not something that everyone will have to deal with, but the practice is more common than you may think. There are many reasons why someone decides to use so-called phishing when they call home, and these are all things that every consumer should know about their own protection and privacy.

One of the more harmless uses of caller ID spoofing is by collection agencies. These are people who have legitimate business with you, but you may not have had any success in contacting you. Most call does not use impersonation, but some do. The number they use vary, but the result is the same. They want the phone, and try to achieve this, by posing as someone else.

Another reason for Caller ID spoofing can be used in the doubtful side. Some law enforcement can use this, along with private investigators to get someone to answer a call. This is not common, but it has become. When someone does not want to be identified, they will not answer the phone for any number. Some people use caller ID spoofing by a number that they feel safe with the aim of getting picked up. This can not get someone to talk, but can confirm the number, and even a location.

More problematic is the use of caller ID spoofing to steal your identity or to harass someone. If anyone has any information about you, but needs more to get credit in your name, can be used as a pretext to call friends and family with the hope that they will have to say what the thief has to know. You can use the fake caller ID to make it to your loved ones the call comes from someone you trust or from a legitimate company. In the same vein, this itself is used in conjunction with scams to get to register for an offer or service that naturally comes to assume a trusted company.

Although you can find the owner of a phone number here, this may not always get what you need. Not hurt to try if. Any information you can get is useful if you are a victim of fraud or identity theft. In case of doubt on any number to call your home, even if the number is familiar, your answering machine that makes the selection for you. People with real and legitimate business with you regularly leave a message. Those who can not have something to hide.

There are a lot of different technologies called “spoofing” out there, and many different services to provide it. Initially the service caller spoofing have been developed in order to allow law enforcement agencies, private investigators and collection agencies to perform their jobs better. It became possible for these professionals to make calls without being traced or identified.

However, in these days, there is an abuse of the technology called “spoofing” that is uncontrollable. Fake movie Numbers (555-555-5555) have been used, the numbers of “Satan” (666-666-6666), and even the numbers of pi (314-159-2653). Services that allow anyone to do the same practice are available everywhere online.

In fact, the services continue for people who will use them legitimately, by right, legally and without intent to harm or deceive. Although the attempt to screen users so that only people who “should” make use of these services. However, there is no real way to stop the consumer through use of the services offered.

The costs are not high (usually with a monthly service fee and / or a fee per minute for each call). This allows the user cost are shown as a caller identification number.

The technology itself works either through PSTN or VOIP, calling service and essentially controls the call spoofing its entire length. In fact, this company provides a legal disclaimer as not being responsible for anything you want users to do or say to use the service.

VOIP offers a great opportunity for simulations of standard PSTN call. Using this technology, in order to participate in the jokes is violating the law. Nevertheless, it is spoofing services themselves are still legal. The technology is allowed, which is how it is used, which can be processed.

Less common, but are also available technology called spoofing, which emulate the Bell 202 FSK signal (also known as orange boxing) and access to the switch of the SS7 network to appear – even to the operators of the company phone – that a call placed by another existing phone number. Finally, and very rare, is VXML, which grew popular VoIP before, but now is pretty stagnant.

If you are in North America, you can spoof your phone caller id. I have tried this from Canada and it does work. The process is very easy. You can even use a free trial, you are allowed three phone calls to try it.

You enter your own phone number, the number you want to call and the number you want to be displayed on the recieving party’s end. You can choose any 10 digit North American number to be displayed on the reciever. As soon as you hit submit, you would recieve a phone call on your phone number you entered, you press 1 and it would connect your call to the party, on their end, the phone number displayed on the caller id would be exactly as what you want it to be.

If you like the service, you can get a paid subscription for so many minutes for so many dollars, with the subscription you get a lot more features and you get a PIN number, you don’t have to use the website anymore, you just call a toll free number, enter the PIN, then enter the number you want to call and the number you want to be displayed. It would dial it for you. Advance features even include changing your voice into a male or female voice

It is indeed very cool, check out the website to try spoof caller id, and its FAQ as follows:

Sometimes we need to protect ourself from people who use fake caller id. They use caller id spoofing software that can fake their ID. Here are more tips and tricks to protect yourself.

PIN or Password-Protect Your Voice Mail

Many cell phone operators, including T-Mobile and ATT, use caller ID as the authenticating mechanism for voice mail. Users of sites like SpoofTel and SpoofCard know this (including, apparently, Paris Hilton, who was blacklisted by SpoofCard for unauthorized activity related to this kind of thing) , and will use your number to call and listen to your voice mail.

If You *Must* Provide Information Over the Phone, Only Provide This Information to Someone You Know

The easiest way to remove the possibility of caller ID-related crime is to *know* someone at every place you do business, and know them well enough so you can recognize their voice on the phone.

That way, if you absolutely *need* to share personal information over the phone, you will be able to do so – or at least be able to call and check if the request that has been made is legitimate.

Do Not Call Phone Numbers in Emails Claiming to be from Banks or Other Corporations, Even If The Email is Addressed to You Personally

One of the emerging phishing strategies is the combining of phishing and marketing technologies, such as mail merge, with automated voice response technologies. In these scams, a number is included in the email for you to call.

Don’t call these numbers. Ever. Hackers are increasingly making use of AVR approaches (“please enter your credit card number you’re calling about, followed by the phone number associated with this account”) that sound real, but are designed to steal the four things they covet most – your name, your social security number, your credit card, and your phone number.

Spoofing Caller ID information for free is really simple these days. All you need is a few bucks and some open source software. The following steps should have you spoofing away in no time.

Click here for a free demo!

Prerequisites:

A working installation of Linux.

Installing Asterisk

- Login to your Linux system as user “root”
- Run the following commands to download Asterisk for free:

cd /usr/src

export CVSROOT=:pserver:anoncvs@cvs.digium.com:/usr/cvsroot

cvs login < --- Use anoncvs as the password

cvs checkout asterisk

- Run the following commands to compile Asterisk:

cd /usr/src/asterisk

make clean

make

make install

make samples

If you run into any problems with the Asterisk installation, consult the Asterisk Wiki for assistance.

Creating a NuFone Account

Fill out the NuFone Account Creation Form.

Choose IAX as the signaling type.

Choose “Pay as you go” as the plan.

After you complete the account creation process, you should receive an confirmation email from NuFone containing your login credentials.

Configuring Asterisk

- Login to your Linux system as user “root”
- Edit /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf and add the following lines to the end of the file. Be sure to substitute your own username and password!

[spoofing]

exten => _XXXXXXXXXX,1,dial,IAX2/username:password@switch-2.nufone.net/1${EXTEN}

exten => _XXXXXXXXXX, 2, congestion() ; No answer, nothing

exten => _XXXXXXXXXX, 102, busy() ; Busy

Creating the Call File

To spoof Caller ID for free using this method, you will need to know the following three bits of information.

Your Phone Number

The Phone Number of the Person You are Calling

The Phone Number You are Spoofing

Create /tmp/spoof.call with the following lines. Remember to substitute your information for spoofnumber, yournumber, and callnumber. Please note that yournumber is the only one that requires a “1″ at the beginning.

Channel: IAX2/username:password@switch-2.nufone.net/1yournumber

Callerid: spoofnumber

MaxRetries: 5

RetryTime: 60

WaitTime: 30

Context: spoofing

Extension: callnumber

Priority: 1

Here is an example call file assuming the following details:

My Number is 404-222-2222

I want to call 404-333-3333

I want to spoof the Caller ID as 404-867-5309

Channel: IAX2/username:password@switch-2.nufone.net/14042222222

Callerid: 4048675309

MaxRetries: 5

RetryTime: 60

WaitTime: 30

Context: spoofing

Extension: 4043333333

Priority: 1

Starting Asterisk

- Login to your Linux system as user “root”.
- Choose one of the following ways to start Asterisk. Don’t run both commands!
- Run the following command to start Asterisk in background mode:

/usr/sbin/asterisk

- Run the following command to start Asterisk in CLI mode:

/usr/sbin/asterisk -c

Spoofing Caller ID for Free

Now that you have Asterisk installed, configured, and running, it’s time to have a little fun with Caller ID.

- Login to your Linux system as user “root”
- Run the following command to initiate the spoofed Caller ID phone call:

cp /tmp/spoof.call /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing

- Asterisk will detect the call file and initiate an IAX call to your phone number. Once you answer the call, Asterisk will then dial the other number and bridge the two calls together.

Cautions and “Don’t Try This At Home” Disclaimer

Spoofing Caller ID for free using a NuFone account certainly violates their Terms of Service and will probably get your account suspended or terminated. There may also be other legal issues with spoofing Caller ID, but I’m not a lawyer.
